Christmas spirit on the Internet radio
The new station went on to exceed all expectations within its very first few days in existence. Christmas fans clicked their way to 104.6 RTL-Weihnachtsradio to hear the top Christmas hits, appropriately broadcast during the first Advent weekend. “We're dumbfounded by the amazing response”, said Arno Müller, Programming Director of the Berlin-based radio station.

104.6 RTL-Weihnachtsradio started broadcasting exclusively to Internet listeners on 30 November. The web-based station broadcasts the biggest Christmas hits of all time around the clock, specially compiled by the peerless head of music at 104.6 RTL. One special feature of the new Christmas station is that it can be accessed over any Internet player and makes do without advertising.

Germany's first ever Christmas radio station offers plenty of yuletide services, including great ideas for presents and also Christmas poems. One special highlight is a series of mouth-watering, downloadable recipes by Michelin-starred chef Thomas Kammeier, the head chef at Hugo's, the restaurant at the Hotel Intercontinental in Berlin.

"This is professionally produced radio for the Internet. The tremendous feedback from listeners proves there's a potentially large audience for web-based specialist radio stations,“ Müller said about his trendsetting Christmas station.
