Bert Habets

Bert Habets, born in 1971, holds a Master of Economics and Law (fiscal) from the University of Maastricht. He joined CLT-UFA, which later became RTL Group, in 1999 in the Business Development unit.

In March 2001, Bert Habets was appointed CFO of Holland Media Groep, which rebranded as RTL Nederland in August 2004. In January 2008, he was appointed CEO of RTL Nederland. Under his leadership, RTL Nederland established a clear strategy of strengthening the core business, while diversifying and innovating. Bert Habets has significantly grown RTL Nederland’s digital businesses (acquisition of the on-demand service Videoland; launch of RTL MCN; joint venture with SpotX for the Benelux and Nordic regions) while moving into other commercial areas such as RTL Ventures and RTL Live Entertainment. At the same time, he strengthened the company’s major free-TV channels and oversaw the launch of four new channels. With these varied strategic moves, he has transformed RTL Nederland from a traditional broadcaster into an all-round media and entertainment company. In 2014, Bert Habets was awarded ‘Most influential broadcast personality of the year 2013’ in the Netherlands.

With effect from 19 April 2017, Bert Habets assumed the role of Co-CEO of RTL Group alongside Guillaume de Posch and was elected in RTL Group’s Board of Directors as Executive Director.

In January 2018, at his own request, Guillaume de Posch stepped down as Co-CEO of RTL Group. Since then, Bert Habets has been leading RTL Group as sole CEO with overall responsibility for the strategy and day-to-day management of RTL Group.

In this capacity, he also has the portfolio responsibility for Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, RTL Nederland, FremantleMedia, RTL Hungary and RTL Croatia. He is responsible for the Group’s digital businesses in the MPN and ad-tech areas, and for Group Strategy, Business Development, Corporate Communications & Marketing, European Affairs, Audit & Compliance and, together with the CFO, for Group HR matters.

Elmar Heggen

Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer

Elmar Heggen, born in 1968, holds a diploma in business administration from the European Business School and graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in finance.

 

In 1992, he started his career at the Felix Schoeller Group, becoming Vice President & General Manager of Felix Schoeller Digital Imaging in the UK in 1999. Elmar Heggen first joined the RTL Group Corporate Centre in 2000 as Vice President Merger & Acquisitions. In January 2003, he was promoted to Senior Vice President Controlling & Investments. From July 2003 until December 2005 he was Executive Vice President Strategy & Controlling.

 

Since January 2006, Elmar Heggen has served on the RTL Group Executive Management team, and since 1 October 2006 he has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Head of the Corporate Centre of RTL Group.

 

In January 2018, Elmar Heggen, while remaining CFO, also became Deputy CEO of RTL Group, assuming the portfolio responsibility for Groupe M6 in France and RTL Belgium within RTL Group’s Executive Committee.

 

In his role as CFO and Head of the Corporate Centre at RTL Group, Elmar Heggen is in charge of Finance, Legal, M&A and Group IT and is jointly responsible for Group HR matter, together with Group CEO Bert Habets. In addition, he has the portfolio responsibility for the Group’s businesses in Luxembourg and for RTL Radio Deutschland. He also represents RTL Group on the Board of publicly listed Atresmedia in Spain.

 

In April 2018, Elmar Heggen was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Groupe M6.

 

Jean-Marie Bourhis

Deputy CFO
Executive Vice President Finance


Jean-Marie Bourhis, born in 1956, is Deputy Chief Financial Officer of RTL Group since December 2006. He has been promoted to this position in addition to his role as Executive Vice President Finance which he holds since January 2004. He is responsible for Group Accounting, Consolidation and Group Transactions and Reporting Systems. Through a combination of Finance and systems, his teams integrate functional skills, software expertise, services providing and project management.

Francesco Costadura

Executive Vice President Human Resources

Francesco Costadura, born 1965, was appointed RTL Group’s Head of Human Resources (HR) and Executive Vice President HR, on 1 August 2016. In this capacity, he reports to RTL Group’s CEO, Bert Habets, and to Group CFO and Deputy CEO Elmar Heggen.

Francesco Costadura joined RTL Group as Vice President Corporate Strategy and Business Development in 2002, and was appointed Managing Director, Rights Trading, of CLT-UFA in 2004. Three years later, he joined RTL Group’s HR department as Senior Vice President HR. In this capacity, he has been managing all HR-related aspects of RTL Group’s Corporate Centre and the Group’s Luxembourg-based entities. He has been affiliated with the Bertelsmann Group since 1992 and held various executive positions – including the general management of companies as Managing Director – at Arvato, CLT-UFA and AOL Europe. Francesco Costadura holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe (Germany) and an MBA from Harvard Business School (United States). 

Vincent de Dorlodot

General Counsel
RTL Group


Vincent de Dorlodot, born in 1965, was appointed general counsel of RTL Group in April 2000. He started his career in 1990 as an attorney working for the lawfirm De Bandt, Van Hecke et Lagae (now Linklaters De Bandt). In 1995, he joined Groupe Bruxelles Lambert as corporate counsel, a position he held until joining RTL Group in 2000. He studied law at the University of Louvain (Belgium) and the University of Leiden (Netherlands). He gained a Master degree in Law at Duke University (USA) in 1994.

Oliver Fahlbusch

Chairman Corporate Responsibility

Oliver Fahlbusch, born in 1973, was appointed Executive Vice President Corporate Communications & Marketing in January 2016. In this position, he is in charge of all internal and external communications activities for RTL Group as well as Corporate Responsibility, reporting to Bert Habets, CEO of RTL Group. Oliver Fahlbusch is a member of RTL Group’s Operations Management Committee (OMC).

After completing his studies in Media and Communication Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin, Oliver Fahlbusch held successive positions in Bertelsmann’s Corporate Communications department from April 2000 to July 2006. He became a member of the Bertelsmann spokesperson group in March 2001 and was promoted to Vice President Media Relations in January 2004.

Oliver Fahlbusch joined RTL Group in August 2006 as Deputy Head of Corporate Communications. In July 2012, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and Head of RTL Group’s Corporate Communications & Marketing department.

With effect from 1 January 2016, internal communications for the Luxembourg site (now called RTL City), event organisation and Corporate Responsibility were also integrated into the Group’s Corporate Communications & Marketing department. All internal and external communications activities for RTL Group are now together in one integrated department, which cooperates closely with all Corporate Centre departments, the Communications departments of RTL Group’s operations and Bertelsmann’s Corporate Communications.

Ursula Schmidt

Executive Vice President Audit & Compliance, RTL Group

Ursula Schmidt was promoted to Executive Vice President Audit and Compliance in January 2016. From August 2013 to December 2015 she was Senior Vice President Audit and Compliance. Prior to this, she has been Head of RTL Group Internal Audit since June 2004. She joined the Group in 2000 where she held several functions in Strategy and Controlling. Before joining the Group she worked for the European Commission (Eurostat) in Luxembourg. From 1994 until 1998 she worked as Project Manager in the area of Business Statistics at various service providers. From 1998 until 1999 she was responsible for Foreign Direct Investment Statistics at Eurostat. In 1994, Ursula Schmidt achieved her final degree (Dr. rer. pol.) at the university of Nürnberg further to her studies of economics with a focus in statistics.
