On 12 January 2017, RTL Luxembourg announced that Christophe Goossens, currently Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed CEO of the company, with immediate effect. Current Program Director Steve Schmit will become Content Director and Deputy CEO of RTL Luxembourg, also with immediate effect.
Christophe Goossens has been appointed CEO of RTL Luxembourg
Goossens is succeeding Alain Berwick, who stepped down from the management of RTL Luxembourg on 31 December 2016. At the same time, the current Program Director, Steve Schmit, will assume the responsibilities of the newly created position of Content Director and Deputy CEO of RTL Luxembourg.
Elmar Heggen, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of RTL Group and Head of the Corporate Centre, also responsible for RTL Group's business in Luxembourg, says: “I'm happy that in Christophe Goossens we succeeded in finding a strong manager from within our ranks for RTL Luxembourg. Christophe Goossens is a dynamic, team-oriented manager whose extensive experience makes him the perfect figure to lead RTL Luxembourg's future development. Steve Schmit has been closely associated with our company for 25 years now and I am therefore delighted to see him take on the new role of Content Director. At the same time, this decision reinforces the position and independence of the editorial team. I'm looking forward to cooperating closely with both colleagues and wish them every success in their new roles.”
In addition to Christophe Goossens and Steve Schmit, the executive management (Comité de direction) of RTL Luxembourg will include:
