•Manage independently the legal side of M&A transactions undertaken by the Company in close cooperation with the strategy and finance departments and with other legal colleagues, and assist the main project team in this respect.
•Participate in negotiations with counterparties.
•Provide general legal advice to the heads of departments and to the General Management.
•Design solutions to address legal issues at an international level.
•Manage litigations to which RTL Group is a party.
•Monitor the legal risk of certain profit centres.
•Effectively handle external law firms the Company engages for any of the above.
•Excellent academic record in legal studies and overall legal insight.
•At least 5 years of experience with a top law firm and ideally some in-house experience.
•Track record of skilfully handling major M&A legal work in an international context.
•Team player and able to rapidly and efficiently build a personal network, both in-house and with outside law firms.
•Dynamic and hands-on person in content and delivery, keen and able to create good added value not only for the legal department but also for the overall business.
•Truly multi-cultural lawyer, at ease when working with different EU nationalities and with overseas executives; able to recognize and respect typical regional issues and legal specificities.
•Sound interest in extra-legal sectors and in working in a multi-functional team. Media industry exposure is not a must but constitutes an asset.
•Perfect command of spoken and written English. Other languages, such as German and/or French, are a plus.
