The Role:


The Social Media Manager will work as part of a virtual team which comprises of various global departments within Fremantle and local broadcast partners. Working in conjunction with Fremantle’s Group Social Media Content and Production team the role will plan social media content ideas around a major, long-running drama series with global reach, and its continuing storylines, with the aim of creating buzz among consumers and driving tune-in. They will work with Fremantle’s marketing and communications team to co-ordinate activity with existing initiatives, and liaise with the local broadcaster’s social media team to execute the delivery of this content to the relevant platform.


Key Activities and Responsibilities:

·         Plan marketing activity around key storyline spikes and throughout the year

·         Work closely with broadcast partners to plan, create and roll-out content on their key platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, web and VOD.

·         Liaise with Fremantle’s publicity, marketing and commercial teams to exploit any content created

·         Day-to-day community management, along partner guidelines

·         Track analytic data to best inform and shape content creation decisions

·        Work with talent during visits to produce material with cast members

·         Weekly reporting and voice call for digital and social media content performance at global level to key stakeholders and networks

·         Monitor competitors globally throughout the year to ensure the drama series remains ahead of the innovation curve

Key competencies and qualifications:


·         Good experience of marketing a TV series on digital platforms, ideally gained in working within a social media agency or within a television production unit

·         Excellent understanding of the social media universe, established connections with the major social media platforms, and knowledge of how they use content to engage audiences

·         Experience on scripted content especially daily series is a plus

·         Mid-level knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and basic-level of Adobe Premiere required

·         Track record in developing and executing stand-out social media campaigns, that have delivered against their objectives

·         A creative thinker, who is also able to execute agreed plans

·         A team player with experience of working within a matrix system

·         Experience of working with creative and on-screen talent

·         Experience of dealing with high-profile brands

·         Initiative to manage own projects

·         Excellent knowledge of platform analytics/insights
