The good audience scores registered by RTL-TVI can be attributed to a selection of new programmes. On the fiction side, films such as Camping Paradis were a hit, drawing 477,400 viewers on 19 April for a 30.6 per cent total audience share, while Les randonneurs à Saint-Tropez attracted 428,900 cinephiles on 15 April for a 26.8 per cent total audience share. On the news side, the Journal de 19h was a huge success, drawing 798,700 viewers for a 52.7 per cent audience share on 12 April.

RTL-TVI’s magazine shows helped contribute to the channel’s great success. Programmes like Images à l’appui, Coûte que coûte and Tout s’explique registered good scores, with a respective 621,300, 563,100 and 539,100 viewers for a 32.6, 33.8 and 30.6 per cent total audience share on 26, 21 and 22 April. Docu-reality shows were equally popular, with A vendre, A acheter drawing 389,200 viewers for a 22 per cent total audience share on 27 April, while Top Chef attracted more than 532,000 culinary fans on 5 April for a 37.7 per cent audience share.
The channel could also count on the success of US series like CSI New York, which drew 718,500 viewers for a 42.2 per cent total audience share on 25 April. CSI Miami scored well, with 686,700 fans tuning in on 25 April for a 41.5 per cent total audience share, while House drew 595,500 viewers on 21 April for a 32.2 per cent total audience share.

It is worth noting that on Wednesday 28 April, between 17:00 and 23:00, RTL Belgium’s three channels (RTL-TVI, Club RTL and Plug RTL) together achieved the highest audience ratings for a Wednesday since July 2005, with a total audience share of 46.5 per cent.
