The competition that will reveal the Top Chef of 2012, which began on 30 January 2012, is now in full swing. Each week, contestants prepare a great number of dishes using a wide variety of products in order to demonstrate their culinary talents and have the chance to continue this adventure that is bound to change their life. For this latest edition, and for the first time, M6 is donating the surplus of foodstuffs made available to the contestants to the French Red Cross.
Thus, once or twice a week, volunteers come to collect 50 to 100 kg of fresh products (fruits, vegetables meat, fish, etc.), which is then sent to the food distribution points of five delegations in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis.
Along with material assistance, food assistance is part of the essential mandate of the Red Cross and one of the pillar activities of the French Red Cross. This aid is indispensible, knowing that for many of the beneficiaries, it is their sole source of obtaining supplies and represents an important bridge to re-insertion in society.
This charitable gesture by Top Chef helps 2,000 people in precarious situations on a daily basis to receive help and support.
