The French polling institute Médiamétrie has just launched a new ratings survey called Mediamat’Thematik, which measures TV audiences among cable, satellite or ADSL viewers, who account for 55 per cent of French TV owners. During the first period covered, between March and June 2010, it revealed that the channels run by Groupe M6 had put in some excellent performances.

M6 emerged as the third-ranking channel with nationwide coverage, commanding an audience share of 10.5 per cent among viewers aged 4 and above. W9 was the leading DTT channel, with an audience share of 2.6 per cent among viewers aged 4 and above, and Paris Première came top of all the general-interest pay-TV channels, with an audience share of 0.7 per cent among viewers aged 4 and above. Finally Téva proved to be the top pay-TV channel among women aged under 50, with an audience share of 1.0 per cent.
