Every Friday starting 19 February and until the elections, RTL Radio will introduce listeners to an unexpected candidate on the programme On ne les attendait pas là. Four portraits in all will be presented at 8:15, starting with Laurence Vichnievsky, a former judge in the Elf affair and now representing the Europe Ecologie party in the PACA region, Gilbert Montagné, a popular singer and UMP candidate in the Auvergne region, Gwendal Peizerat, a former figure-skating champion respresenting the Socialist party in the Rhône-Alpes region and finally Marion Le Pen, a student representing the National Front in Ile-de-France.
For the first and second rounds of the elections on Sunday 14 and 21 March respectively, RTL Radio’s Editorial Director Hervé Béroud will present two special evenings, providing projections from the Opinionway poll from the earliest moments on. He’ll be joined in the studio by political columnists Alain Duhamel, Jean-Michel Aphatie and Serge July, as well as journalists from the political department. On the ground, RTL Radio’s regional correspondents and reporters will provide election results. Throughout the evening, people will be invited to comment live on the air.
On the following mornings, journalists will review and evaluate the elections with the station’s political specialists and columnists.
