X Factor, Netherlands, Logo Giving rappers a chance, too The talent show X Factor will be back on RTL 4 in the spring of 2013. Interested candidates who believe they have what it takes can apply until then. For the upcoming fifth season, the audition rules have been changed slightly to include other categories of artists.


 Rochelle Perts

Solo singer Rochelle Perts emerged as the winner of Season Four of X Factor. She prevailed over a few thousand other hopefuls, she was able to make her dream come true and signed a three-year record deal. The winning act of the upcoming fifth season will receive the same prize - what’s new is the fact that rappers, DJ acts and singer-songwriters can also audition in one of the four categories: male, female, 26+, and bands.

X Factor is produced by the FremantleMedia company BlueCircle and was watched by an average 1.5 million viewers each season. Originally developed in the United Kingdom – where the show is now in its ninth season - it has travelled worldwide with versions locally produced and broadcast in several European countries as well as in the US, South-America, Australia and Asia. Its judges and coaches have included Britney Spears, Ronan Keating, Kelly Rowland, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne, Mel B, and Gary Barlow, as well as the talent show’s creator Simon Cowell.
