On 8 June, M6 will launch the Euro 2012 festivities by broadcasting the opening game. All in all, the channel will show 10 matches – two out of three games in the groups phase of the French National Team, two quarterfinals and 1 semi-final. M6 will share the competition’s top line-ups with TF1 while BeIN Sport 1 and 2 (the two new sports channels in the Al Jazeera group) will also air the entire championship in pay TV. This competition that brings together Europe’s 16 best teams will run until 1 July in Poland and the Ukraine.
For the Euro 2016 in France, M6 will provide live broadcasts of the 11 best matches in the competition.
With this new agreement, Groupe M6 confirms its involvement in football and reminds viewers it will also be the only free-to-air broadcaster of the European Cups for the years 2012/2015, following the renewal of its agreement with the UEFA Europa League (Backstage reported).
