With more than 4 million listeners every morning, Vincent Parizot is the most listened-to man on the radio in France from 7:00 to 9:30. The number one morning radio show in France continues to make progress with almost 110,000 new listeners gained during the wave and over one year.
The absolute leader, RTL Radio France continues to keep the competition at a distance in all criteria measured: accumulated audience(*), time spent listening and audience share(*). RTL Radio France has 887,000 more listeners than the second placed radio station each day and 2.5 points more than the number two station in market shares. RTL today is listened to by 26 per cent more listeners at all times than the number two station (quarter hour average).
Among the music stations, RTL 2 was the only radio that improved its performance both since the previous wave (plus 0.5 percentage points) and year-on-year (plus 0.1 percentage points). Jérôme Fouqueray, General Director of RTL 2, says: “This increase is the result of following our strategy to deliver clear and constant results in terms of programme and communication. Setting a new record and gaining more than 274,000 new listeners is a great success in these times. Our team has clearly shown that music radio is not going down.”
(*) Accumulated audience measures the percentage of people who have listened to radio at least once during the day, while audience share takes into account time spent listening. All figures refer to the Médiamétrie survey for the period January to March 2009.
