RTL Kockika Croatia logo RTL Hrvatska to launch children’s channel RTL Hrvatska has been awarded a license for a new kids and family channel to be named RTL Kockica, and RTL Televizija’s concession has been extended. The licenses for both channels have been granted for a period of 15 years.
The new channel, RTL Kockica, will target children and families. Kockica is the Croatian for “dice”. RTL Kockica will be a free-to-air channel distributed nationwide on digital cable and IPTV. It is scheduled for launch in autumn 2013.

RTL Hrvatska CEO Johannes Züll says: “We are very pleased about the extension of our concession and especially happy about being granted the license for RTL Kockica. Our new channel is the only free-to-air channel for kids and family programming and will bring more diversity and new formats for our viewers while extending our family of stations".

The Croatian regulator EMC has also renewed the concession for RTL Televizija, RTL Hrvatska’s flagship channel which has now been on air for ten years in Croatia. Since its launch, RTL Televizija has brought variety to the Croatian TV market and launched new production and programing trends in the country.

The extended family of channels in Croatia – which now encompasses RTL Televizija, RTL2, IPTV channel RTL Plus and the new channel RTL Kockica – is part of RTL Hrvatska’s strategy against fragmentation and will further strengthen the company’s position on the advertising market.

The regulator did not grant any other licenses.
