Luxembourg, 4 November 2005 - RTL Group today announces the appointment of Oliver Herrgesell to head Communications for the Group as Executive Vice President Corporate Communications and Marketing with effect from 1 February 2006.

Oliver Herrgesell is 43 years old and has been working as Chief Press Officer and Head of Internal Communications at Bertelsmann AG for more than six years. Before that, he had a career as a journalist in newspapers, magazines and TV.  

Andrew Buckhurst, currently Head of External Communications and Investor Relations, will remain responsible for investor relations.

Chief Executive, Gerhard Zeiler, said today: "I am delighted that Oliver is taking on this role as he brings extensive knowledge of both Bertelsmann and the media world to RTL Group. Given his professional and personal skills, I am sure he will make a very positive and valuable contribution to the further development of the Group.
