On 21 March 2017, RTL Group signed the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg to express its commitment to promoting diversity by concrete actions that go beyond legal and regulatory non-discrimination obligations.

Guillaume de Posch, Co-CEO of RTL Group, has signed the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg for RTL Group. Oliver Fahlbusch, Executive Vice President Corporate Communications & Marketing and Chairman Corporate Responsibility at RTL Group, attended the official signing ceremony on 21 March 2017. Anke Schäferkordt, Co-CEO of RTL Group and CEO of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, signed the German version of the Diversity Charter back in December 2007.

Oliver Fahlbusch said: “After the publication of our Diversity Statement in 2016, signing the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg represents the next logical step in demonstrating RTL Group’s strong commitment to diversity in our people, our content and our businesses. More than 150 signatories of the Diversity Charter in Luxembourg send a clear signal: in a country as diverse as Luxembourg, promoting pluralism, respect and equal opportunity is a pre-condition for sustainable business success.”

Created in 2012, the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg is an initiative by private and public companies, associations and administrations grouped within IMS Luxembourg (Inspiring More Sustainability).

Signing the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg means:

  • Respecting and promoting the principle of non-discrimination, promoting pluralism and developing diversity through recruitment criteria and career management;
  • Internally promoting equal employment opportunities and treatment;
  • Increasing the company’s capacity for innovation and creativity

By signing the Charter, RTL Group declared it aims to achieve this ambition in the context of six points: raising awareness, defining a diversity policy, applying the principles of equal opportunities and promotion of diversity, evaluating these practices, communicating them to all stakeholders of the companies, and encouraging all of these partners to work in favour of non-discrimination.

The International School of Luxembourg children’s choir opened the official signing ceremony with two songs Christian Scharff, President of the Committee for the Charter, hosted the evening Nicki Crush, Director of the International School of Luxembourg, welcomed the signing ceremony attendees Corinne Cahen, Minister for Family, Integration and the Great Region, patron of the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg Marc Raynaud, Director Intergénérationnel, gave a keynote about age diversity in the workplace Ethan Schrieberg, a former International School of Luxembourg student, gave a speech about the career prospects of young people Oliver Fahlbusch, Executive Vice President Corporate Communications & Marketing RTL Group, signed the group certificate of the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg Oliver Fahlbusch (2nd row, 2nd from left) and the other signatories of the seventh official signing session of the Diversity Charter Lëtzebuerg together with Corinne Cahen (1st row, 3rd from right) and Christian Scharff (1st row, 1st from right)
