Groupe M6 announced its involvement in creating a new channel in the Ivory Coast – named Life TV – by acquiring a 33 per cent stake in the Ivorian company, also called Life TV.

This company will run Life TV, a channel that will be launched in the course of 2018 as part of the liberalisation of the television market in the Ivory Coast. Life TV is a general-interest channel directed at all viewers, with a varied, local content-based programme schedule (entertainment shows, news, films, talk shows, etc.) mainly produced internally thanks to the creation of the Ivory Coast's largest production studio (measuring 1,000m²) and it will also offer programmes from Groupe M6's catalogue.

As part of this project, Groupe M6 has also partnered with Fabrice Sawegnon, CEO of Voodoo Group – the leading communications group in the country – to combine his expertise of the French-speaking Africa advertising market with Groupe M6's know-how in creating free television channels. Vincent Broussard, who has managed several television channels in France, including Téva, TF6 and Serieclub, is the Managing Director of the new channel.

By partnering with Fabrice Sawegnon – founder of Voodoo Group – and acquiring this stake in the company, Groupe M6 is not only making its debut in Africa, on an Ivorian market with strong growth potential, but also confirming its position as a major stakeholder in French-speaking television. This agreement is in line with Groupe M6's proactive policy on risk-taking and innovation that was established when the company was created.
