A new, extensive Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and Sky Deutschland partnership for streaming and content.
Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland’s streaming service TV Now will be available via the all-in-one platform Sky Q from mid of 2021. This increases TV Now’s potential reach by more than 2.5 million Sky Q customers who will be able to sign up to the fast-growing TV Now Premium programme line-up with over 47,000 programme hours. Best of all, regardless of TV Now Premium membership, all Sky Q customers will have unlimited access to on-demand programming from all of the Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland’s free-to-air channels at no extra cost. The content is available on demand for up to seven days after broadcast.
As part of the partnership, Sky exclusively sublicenses Formula 1 free-to-air TV rights to Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland. RTL Television will broadcast four Formula 1 races per season live on free-to-air TV. The agreement, initially concluded for two years, also includes extensive news access rights, enabling Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland to report on Formula 1 across all channels.
